Role Purpose

As Portfolio Manager, your primary mandate is client satisfaction and retention. Every client we engage with should feel genuinely supported, consistently delivered to, and confident in a long-term relationship with HFC. Project control, governance, commercial oversight, and sales support are the tools you use to make that happen — not the end goal in themselves.

You will work directly alongside the CEO, representing HFC in client environments, driving commercial pipeline activity, and ensuring delivery quality across all active engagements. You will own relationships from first proposal through to post-delivery, and be responsible for the outcomes that matter most: clients who stay, grow, and refer.

This is a high-trust, client-facing role. You will represent HFC directly with clients, own satisfaction and retention outcomes, support business development, and ensure operational continuity — enabling the CEO to focus on strategic leadership.

  • Onboarding: 1-month structured onboarding into HFC delivery methodology
  • Growth path: Clear pathway toward Account Manager within 1–3 years, based on performance

Key Responsibilities

1. Client satisfaction & retention

Own client satisfaction and retention outcomes across all assigned accounts. Conduct regular check-ins, track satisfaction indicators, resolve escalations promptly, and ensure every client remains actively engaged and well-supported beyond go-live. Proactively identify opportunities to deepen and grow accounts in coordination with the CEO.

2. Sales & business development support

Support and drive HFC's commercial pipeline alongside the CEO. Prepare quotations, proposals, and sales collateral. Follow up on outstanding proposals, track debtor follow-ups, manage the CRM pipeline, and plan marketing campaigns across digital and physical channels to generate inbound leads.

3. Project control & governance

Define and maintain structured project plans. Control scope, enforce milestone validation, monitor delivery timelines, and ensure all project documentation meets HFC's standards — in service of a client experience that consistently builds trust.

4. Meeting leadership & stakeholder management

Chair client project meetings, set agendas, and manage discussions with confidence and professionalism. Handle scope deviations and escalate commercial matters where required, always protecting the integrity of the client relationship.

5. Budget, billing & account oversight

Track project budgets, burn rates, and billable allocations. Coordinate invoicing milestones, monitor contract renewals and support hours, and liaise with finance to ensure accurate and timely billing — protecting both project profitability and client confidence.

6. Internal projects & operational assignments

Lead internal transformation and system implementation initiatives, coordinate cross-functional work-streams, and support continuous improvement across HFC operations.

Must Have Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Education

  • Degree in Project Management, Business Management, Information Systems, Public Relations, Digital Transformation, or a related field
  • Minimum First Class or Strong Upper Second-Class (2:1) Honours
  • Solid secondary/high-school academic performance (A*, A, or B grades)
  • Or equivalent demonstrable functional capability

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in:

    • Project management
    • ERP or software delivery environments
    • Client-facing governance
    • Sales or business development support
    • Internal operational coordination
